this is my PS3, which the HDMI port slipped a little to far back. It's under everything.
P.S. Anybody know how to remove the hardware from the bottom chassis?
P.S.S. Who changed the name of Oppo to Opposite John Locke?

Is it a slim? I've had a couple fat PS3s apart (fresh thermal paste on me and my roommates consoles) but haven't worked on a slim.

everywhere.
But I don't feel like fucking with all of them.
Ugg... Worse comes to worse I have the hard drive removed, it's just a matter of buying a new one & switching them out.

looks like you may have to take the drive and fan off to get to the heat shield to access the HDMI. Idk, that is just looking at the pic.
I just bought a slim PS3 with a broken disc drive for $10 hoping to flip for some extra dough. Will have to see when I get inside.
I feel like the Richard Rawlings of video games.

Unscrew everything. If that doesn't work...pull until something snaps...that's how I fix game systems, DVD players, VCRs, etc. As long as you don't bust the guts the thing'll work fine which is good enough for me!

Check iFixit for their PS3 tear down guides. I'd link it, but I'm on my phone.

I've disassembled my PS3 Fat a few times, but I'm not familiar with the Slim. What I do know is that with Sony products, they label their assembly screws with arrows. If you see a screw without an arrow, leave it in.
Also, if it's anything like the Fat, you'll need to remove the heat sink, which means removing and reapplying thermal compound. If you aren't ready or willing to do that, don't remove the heat sink.
